KBK Turns 7: A Birthday Full of Memories, Laughter, and connection
This week, we celebrated KBK’s 7th birthday, and what a special afternoon it was! The children wandered happily around the spaces, confident and relaxed, moving between activities with ease and curiosity. Some collaborated team racing and ball games, others shared quiet moments exploring nature, and all of them showed the kind of respect and care for one another that makes KBK feel like a true second home. Slowing down to connect: learning on country
Lately, we’ve been taking a different approach at our bush block—slowing down and really letting the children take their time. No rushing from one activity to the next, just long, unhurried stretches of play where they can really connect with nature. It’s amazing to watch. From scraps to seeds: Learning Sustainability the everyday way
Around here, sustainability isn’t something we “teach” during a special activity — it’s just part of how our days unfold. It might start with breakfast scraps. The children carefully scrape their plates into the compost bucket or carry leftovers out to the chickens, who are always waiting (and very opinionated). Those scraps become eggs.
